Dorm Necessity 101: Norcent Home Theater System
Company Offers Systems Perfect for Dorm Living:
Fully Featured, Smart Styling, Affordably Priced
Norcent Technology, San Dimas, CA
Along with the laptop, a closet stuffed with clothes, athletic gear, and - oh yeah - a textbook or two, there is a new item fast becoming a dorm room staple on college campuses across America: a Home Theater System. Norcent, a leading supplier of consumer electronics, has two systems that are perfect for dorm life. They are the compact and affordable DP-2700 and DP-5000. Each designed with an attractive low-profile chassis.
"Living in a dorm has changed," commented Jennifer Long, Norcent CEO. "It wasn't that long ago that having a transistor radio would suffice as entertainment. Now home theater systems provide a full range of entertainment options for dorm dwellers. Our Norcent Home Theater Systems are very stylish, feature rich, and, maybe most important, are priced for a college student's - or Mom and Dad's - budget."
A special feature of these attractive systems, especially if the student is not taking advanced engineering, is they offer easy-to-install functionality. Both also feature a single-disk Progressive Scan DVD player, with Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic surround sound for realistic, high-fidelity sound and life like video quality.
A full-function remote control allows users to effortlessly navigate the display and on-screen menus. They also feature eight different language soundtracks and captions in 32 languages (the latter two, of course, students will claim are useful for studying foreign languages). An AM/FM PLL digital tuner, with 40 memory presets, is also included.
The DP-2700 The 350-watt (PMPO) DP-2700 is a complete system in a thin, low-profile design. It plays virtually any media a college student would want (for at least this semester): DVD, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3-CD, and Picture-CD. It comes complete with five speakers and a subwoofer (front, 50w x 2; center, 50w x 1; surround, 50w x 2; and sub, 100w x 1).
The DP-5000 For larger dorms or dorm/apartments, the DP-5000 delivers a full 600 watts (PMPO). It too is fully compatible with a variety of media formats, including DVD, CD, CD-R/-RW, MP3, DVD+R/+RW, and DVD-R/-RW. The five speakers and subwoofer (front, 80w x 2; center, 80w x 1; surround, 80w x 2; and sub, 200w x 1) provide an exceptional, rich and full sound.
