New Norcent Slim-Design, 10-Megapixel Camera
Offers Exceptional Image Quality
Feature-Rich Camera Includes Face Tracking, Anti-Shake Capabilities, and Large Scratch-Resistant LCD Screen
San Dimas, CA – January 3, 2008 -- Norcent, a marketer of high-quality home entertainment and digital products,
announces the introduction of its latest digital camera, the 10-megapixel
DCS-1050, at the 2008 International CES in Las Vegas. Part of Norcent’s new
feature-rich 50 Series line of slim digital cameras, the unit includes face-
detection and anti-shake capabilities as well as a large, scratch-resistant 3”
color LCD display.
“The new DCS-1050 10-megapixel digital camera captures awe-inspiring
ultra-high resolution images of up to 3648 x 2736,” Rick Stans, Executive Vice
President Sales and Marketing. “We are confident consumers will love our new 50
Series of digital cameras. They will allow virtually anyone to take
professional-quality images. Plus, they are elegantly designed, conveniently
slim, and priced for discriminating budgets. ”
Two of its many tremendous features, which are also found on all 50 Series
models, help ensure superior image clarity. Face-tracking capability identifies
faces within the frame and automatically adjusts for the ideal focus and
exposure; while special anti-shake technology compensates for camera movement,
delivering crisp, clean images.
The large 3”, scratch-resistant, TFT-panel color LCD display assures users
will always have a perfect view of what they are shooting or showing.
Additionally, 3X optical zoom and 4X digital zoom are included for crisp, clear
distance photos or to highlight a specific area of an image. To maintain the
color accuracy and clarity needed for consistently high quality photography, the
DCS-1050 digital camera offers white balance settings of manual, daylight,
cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent, and custom.
Its built-in flash includes auto, red-eye reduction, always-on, slow-sync,
forced-on, and forced-off modes. Users can select from 22 scene modes, including
movie, voice REC (WAV format), portrait, landscape, text, back light, food, and
soft skin.
In movie mode, the newest Norcent camera captures MPEG-4 video clips with
resolutions of 640 x 480, 320 x 240, or 160 x 120. Playback is in either NTSC or
PAL formats with up to 30 seconds of WAV audio.
The DCS-1050 has 16MB of internal memory and is compatible with external
SD/MMC flash storage media. The camera comes complete with user manual, camera
bag, software CD, and USB and AV cables for connection to a computer or TV.
As with all Norcent 50 Series digital cameras, the DCS-1050 is elegantly
designed with an all-metal body casing and comes in black.
Pricing and Availability The Norcent DCS-1050 10 Megapixel, 50
Series digital camera has an estimated street price of $179.99 at select
retailers nationwide.
